Life in Week 38

Life is staying fairly normal as we enter week 38 here! Isaiah is being awesome as always and baby is keeping busy in my belly.

Isaiah found Ben's crocs as started wearing them around the house.
Isaiah and Iko, our neighbor from Japan (she's 19 months old)
We finally dragged all the baby things out of our cave and Isaiah had a great time playing in his carseat and with all the baby toys.

Had some friends from church over for dinner and as you can see the boys had a great time running around together...

The leadership team at church went for a prayer retreat last weekend, which was fantastic! It was the most I've ever prayed consecutively in my life. I think we worked it out that we prayed for over 8 hours during the time that we were there- Friday night to Saturday afternoon.
Isaiah and the other boys watching a video while we held another prayer session. This was Isaiah's first tv video ever! It was a "Maisy" video- he only lasted about 10 minutes with it...
Isaiah & Silas

Isaiah got out all the shoes in the entire house today and tried all of them on. It was great! His favorites were Daddy's crocs and his own Stride-Rites, which are too small for him...

36 Weeks

A few weeks ago, Ben was traveling, so Isaiah and I took a little field trip to a working farm in Wavre, about 25 minutes away. It was a fun day for Isaiah- full of duck fishing, watching out for cow pies, planting watercress, petting animals and feeding some very enthusiastic goats. For some reason, I only got pictures of the duck fishing...during the feeding of the goats, I think I was probably more concerned with making sure Isaiah didn't pour a whole bucket of food into the pen than taking pictures...

Isaiah also enjoys talking on the headphones and paused long enough to say "cheese" for me.
I've been terrible at taking belly pictures this pregnancy too, so finally last night I made Ben snap a quick picture. The Belly is getting HUGE! I think Baby is packing on the lbs because my belly popped out something serious this week and we still have about a month to go! yikes...

And finally, for those of you who haven't been able to see Isaiah's new skill - here it is... A couple of weeks ago Ben taught Isaiah how to stand on his "tippy-toes" and how to show his "muscles." Super cute! I took the video horizontally, so you are going to have to tilt your head a bit to the left...

Baby Shower

Last Saturday two of my good friends here, Rachel & Jackie, had a shower for Baby Smidt. It was so nice to get together with some friends, eat some delicious brunch food, and leave the kids at home :) Rachel made a fantastic diaper cake - check it out below. I got my first belly picture (yikes, sad!) of Baby #2 at the shower, at 32.5 weeks. Baby is always moving and having a great time, especially from about 10.30pm-11.30pm.

Lots of Yummy food!!

Luna Finds a Friend

Luna gets lonely sometimes these days and she finally found a friend... There nothing like a good, soft teddy bear to say, "You've got a friend in me."

And some fun pics of Isaiah...
Showing his "muscles"

Chillin' with Dad on the balcony
Today, Isaiah got ahold of my Sunday glasses and was running around the house wearing them....soo funny! Is it ok to say that I'm pretty sure we've got the most awesome kid ever?! Because he really is super awesome!

A "Hi Daddy!"

This morning we had some fun teaching Isaiah to make fun noises with his mouth and saying Hi to Daddy, who has been in the US for the last week and a half. We love you Ben! Isaiah wasn't satisfied without giving a shout-out to the grandma's as well. Also notice he says, "ma mere" which is "my mom" in French. He calls me that a lot now. He also calls Ben "Dadair", which isn't a word, but he just added the French "r" to the end of Dad- HA! Even better is when he adds the French "r" to Luna and calls her "Lunair"...so funny!

Update on the Babino

I haven't blogged to much about this second baby (sorry Baby #2!), so I'll just throw in a quick update. This week we are at 27 weeks already! Ben keeps telling me I need to get a picture of the belly, but I keep forgetting to take one (one of my WORST pregnancy symptoms this time around is "baby eating my brain" symptom where I forget everything, several times over). The pregnancy is going well! Every month we get a thumbs up report from the doctor. This baby is definitely a mover and a shaker though, even Isaiah has felt the baby move! He asks me several times a day now, "baby kicking? baby kicking?" Especially when I wince or say "oooph" he always asks, "baby kicking?" Very cute! I think Isaiah is ready to be a big brother!

Time for an update of what the babino has been up to lately...
He climbed into his ball cart all on his own and was having a great time hanging out in there- even better when I pushed him around the apartment! The picture below is his "cheeeeese" face!

Isaiah wanted to put on this pancho-sweater thing of mine- he looked hilarious...he kept tripping on it, but didn't want to take it off for 20 minutes.
4th of July party with all the American fixings that we could find. Soooo fun! And so much food left over- after everyone has eaten way more than they should have, each family took enough meat/salads home for 1 or 2 extra meals!
Bo, Caleb & Isaiah playing with Bo's Thomas the train set. Isaiah LOVES the train set...I think I know what he's getting for his birthday this year!

Eating cereal out of his cool bowl with an attached straw.
Bo and Isaiah having a snack together :)
Another view of the 4th of July food...
Isaiah and Ben being silly

More Cheeeeeese!
Isaiah climbed up here and got stuck- hilarious! I tried to upload a video below, but I'm not sure it worked...
